It's almost 2 weeks since I've been back in New York, but it feels like a couple hours. To conclude my 4 week stay in one email is an impossible task I will not commit to. Among the 1000's of photos, 100's of videos, scramble of thoughts, emotions, recollections, reflections, conversations, assignments, receipts, whats app messages, and the remainder of what's left of my trip. I expect to spend the rest of my life processing the experience.
However, as my supporters and family I owe some sort of synopsis of this life changing trip.
In Mumbai, India I learned how similar the vibrant city is to New York. Every day was a new type of anxiety and excitement. I learned about the ability to receive love from strangers, challenging the norm, perception, being an introvert, exploring, having unfiltered and unapologetic fun, sustainability within a social enterprise, building connections, what it means to feel safe, communicating complex ideas, discussing uncomfortable and controversial topics, entrepreneurship, nothing in life makes sense yet it all connects, validating my purpose, how we complicate everything, poverty, gentrification, and the different shapes of blessings.
One of our assignments was to create a digital story which depicts our Study Abroad experience. My digital story illustrates my first lesson in traveling and serves as an introduction to a bigger project.
Hope you all enjoy.
Home is where the heart is.
